About
XVDR is a fork of the original VNSI sources written by Alwin Esch back in 2010.
I got involved into the project as I tried to stabilize the VNSI sources and sent my patches to Alwin.
In the beginning of 2011 XBMC PVR maintainership was handed to Lars Opdenkamp and I continued my work by sending patches to Lars.
I never really liked the idea of a monolithic PVR addon source-tree that was used at that time and I started to make the addon independent of the XBMC source tree. This work led to a modular addon installable via an XBMC addon repository.
In August 2011 I decided to fork the VNSI sources and renamed the plugin to XVDR.
